IRGC Arrests 11 Senior PJAK Militants in Kermanshah

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force has arrested nearly a dozen senior members of the Party for Free Life in Kurdistan (PJAK) militant group in Kermanshah Province, near the Iraqi border.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force has arrested nearly a dozen senior members of the Party for Free Life in Kurdistan (PJAK) militant group in Kermanshah Province, near the Iraqi border.

The commander of the IRGC Ground Force’s Najaf Ashraf Base said on Saturday that IRGC servicemen, working alongside intelligence units, identified and detained 11 leaders of the anti‑Iran terrorist group during an operation in the province.

Brigadier General Mohsen Karimi stated that the individuals were operating as two separate terror cells and were in direct contact with the main elements of the organization.

He added that the militants were planning acts of sabotage and attempts to undermine public security, but were detected and apprehended before carrying out any attacks.

Karimi noted that IRGC intelligence forces, together with personnel from the Najaf Ashraf Base, had gathered valuable and precise information on the group’s activities in recent weeks, enabling their identification and arrest.

PJAK is an offshoot of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), operating in the mountainous Kurdish‑majority regions of southeastern Turkey and northern Iraq.
